Residential Safety Guides

This file includes all the required government booklets, handouts, and safety guides for residential properties listed above into a single convenient PDF file.

Whether you are buying or selling a residential property, or staying in your current home, every Californian should know his or her home “energy rating”.

The California Departments of Real Estate and Health Services originally prepared this booklet in response to the California legislative mandate (Chapter 969, Statutes of 1989, AB 983, Bane) to inform the homeowner and prospective homeowner about environmental hazards located on and affecting residential property.

This booklet contains information on how you can protect your family from lead hazards.

This fact sheet provides information to people who have experienced water damage to their home and presents the health concerns related to mold exposure. It also provides general guidelines on mold detection, cleanup & removal of mold contaminated materials.

This Booklet is designed to assist you in filling out the Residential Earthquake Hazards Report when you sell your home. This booklet is also a good start to begin strengthening your home against earthquake damage.

When you sell a home built before 1960, seller is required to fill out the Residential Earthquake Risk Disclosure Statement, and give the completed statement to the buyer. Seller is required to answer each question to the best of their knowledge.

This page provides a sign-off sheet acknowledging the buyer received the Safety Guides required for residential real estate purchases. Please note: This page is provided for your convenience. Other Real Estate Acknowledgement forms can be used.
